Career mentorship is a connection between two or more people who focus on career growth and development for a determined amount of time. A career mentor is expected to share their time and knowledge, offer valuable ideas and advice based on their real-world experiences, listen carefully, and ask open-ended questions that assist their mentee in thinking about their future direction.

Career Mentees are current UTA students or alumni who are looking for guidance as they navigate their career, consider a career change, or explore graduate school. Career Mentees are passionate about growing professionally, learning new skills, navigating their career path, and expanding their professional networks to give them a competitive advantage in the workplace.
Definition of Peer Mentorship
Peer mentorship is a supportive relationship between two UTA students who focus on personal, academic, and professional growth throughout a semester. A peer mentor provides encouragement, guidance, and perspective based on their own student experiences. Peer mentorship helps mentees feel connected to campus, build confidence, and develop skills that prepare them for success both inside and outside the classroom.
Definition of a Peer Mentor
Peer Mentors are current UTA students who are actively involved on campus through internships, employment, or student organizations. They are trained volunteers who share their knowledge, experiences, and resources with fellow Mavericks. Peer Mentors listen carefully, offer encouragement, and help mentees set and achieve personal and academic goals. By serving as a Peer Mentor, students strengthen their own communication and leadership skills while giving back to the UTA community.

Peer Mentees are UTA students who are seeking support as they transition into college life, get involved on campus, or prepare for future opportunities. Peer Mentees benefit from guidance in navigating campus resources, attending events, making new connections, and building confidence in their Maverick experience. Mentees are encouraged to take initiative in the relationship by reaching out, setting goals, and participating actively in milestone activities.
