Mentor a UTA Student or Alum

MavMentors is a career mentoring program at the University of Texas at Arlington that brings students, alumni, employers, and faculty/staff together. Running year-round, the program focuses on building meaningful career connections through an online mentoring platform and in-person networking events. The goal is to provide guidance, share professional experiences, and create career exploration and growth opportunities. At its core, MavMentors emphasizes the power of connection helping participants learn from one another, exchange advice, and take the next steps in their professional journeys.

Benefits of Being a Career Mentor

  1. Guiding students by sharing your professional and educational experiences, helping them prepare for career success.
  2. Supporting the next generation of UTA alumni as they transition from college to the workforce or graduate school.
  3. Staying connected to UTA and giving back in a meaningful way.
  4. Expanding your own professional network by building relationships with current students, fellow alumni, and employer partners.

Mentor talking

Mentoring a student is a great way to give back to UTA. Sharing your advice and experience can help mentees understand working in a professional environment, navigate the job search process, and learn important steps to take in their own career journey.
